Who We Are

The Cape Cod Stranding Network, Inc. (CCSN), a project of IFAW, is a small non-profit organization dedicated to improving marine mammal stranding response on Cape Cod and in southeastern MA. We hold a Letter of Authorization from NOAA Fisheries, the federal governing body for marine mammals, to perform stranding response in this region. CCSN has one part-time and four full-time staff members that perform its day-to-day duties. We also have a large well-trained volunteer corps of over 300 individuals that help with field work, necropsies, office tasks, and outreach. CCSN is one of fourteen organizations that comprise the Northeast Region Stranding Network that runs from Maine to Virginia.
