January/February strandings
We had our first mass stranding of the season on January 15th in Wellfleet (at Loagy Bay and Herring River). There were 17 Atlantic white-sided dolphins that stranded, all but three of which had already died when they were reported. Read more... |

| The Cape Cod Stranding Network (CCSN), a project of IFAW, is a small non-profit dedicated to improved stranding response for dolphins, whales, and seals on Cape Cod and in southeastern Massachusetts. CCSN?s mission is to promote the conservation of marine mammal species and their habitat by improving response and humane care for stranded marine mammals, advancing stranding science, and increasing public awareness through education. |
